About

Background

Stephen is the Director at Lighting & Sound Services. He has over twenty years’ experience as a lighting and sound engineer, in a variety of performance arenas. With a keen eye (and ear) for detail, Stephen has produced impressive lighting designs for events including contemporary dance shows, fashion shows, musical theatre productions, drama and awards evenings to name a few.

Stephen is in demand as a sound technician and has managed the sound production for a diverse range of musicians from rock bands through to Bhangra artists and opera. He has supported musicians in both recording and live performances.

Stephen is pleased to have repeat business each year from organisations such as the Cambridge Chinese Community forum, and Wings of Fire, amongst others.

His technical knowledge and professional work ethic means he forms positive working relationships with all clients, whether it be hiring out equipment to schools, or doing technical production for a pumping fashion show. He listens to the clients’ wishes and tailors his approach to meet the needs of their specific event and budget.

Stephen studied Live Sound Technology at diploma level with Britannia Row Productions He graduated top of his cohort. This experience gave him access to training from the top audio engineers working globally with the biggest artists’ tours. Britannia Row provides audio equipment and expertise to the Brit Awards as well as touring bands including Foo Fighters, arguably one of the biggest acts on the planet.

As part of stage crew at Cambridge Corn Exchange, Stephen has worked on set ups for artists including Rebecca Ferguson, KT Tunstall, Mallory Knox, and Jools Holland and Rhythm & Blues Orchestra. He also has past experience in working on set ups for the legendary Cambridge University May Balls.

  • Lighting hire for stage productions, including schools / theatres / am dram and private events
  • PA hire with technician for bands, open mic nights, awards events at indoor or open air functions
  • Lighting and sound packages for corporate events, weddings, parties and celebrations

Lighting & Sound Services takes pride in using high quality equipment from the cables through to mics and lights. Lighting equipment has even been provided to larger venues such as Cambridge Corn Exchange.
